To avoid all road crossings and the logistics that this component entails, we have consulted and reviewed the path and our group has come up with three separate options available to sit skiers. Please remember that the proposed activities are optional. We invite you to review each course options and pick what best fits your needs.
Option “A” Beginner - LEARN TO SIT SKI STATION - Ability Level: Easy
Location: Whisker’s Field, North side of the Mountain Road and Cape Cod Road intersection. See Map here. This station will be running from 10am-1pm.
General Information: This is the perfect station to try on some adaptive equipment and get familiar with the sport of Nordic sit skiing. Trained professionals of the NENSA Adaptive Program will be available to fit the equipment and offer sit ski instructions to refine your technique. Games including a Nordic Terrain Park, beans bag toss and plenty more also await - all run and organized by Stowe Parks and Recreation. Make sure to enjoy a S’Mores off the fire pit. Stay here as long as you want and perfect that push and glide, and gain skills and confidence in this exciting sport. If you are feeling more adventurous, jump right into Option “B” (see below).
Parking: Participants are asked to park behind the large yellow building adjacent to the road intersection. Best parking spots will be reserved for adaptive skiers, please follow the volunteers’ directions. Extra parking will also be available at the Jewish Center of Stowe (JCOG).
